Al Kozar grew up in McKee’s Rock, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. He played for the Washington Senators. While the Senators were playing the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland on June 27, 1948, Kozar’s fans filled eight train cars in the journey from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to cheer for their local hero.
